Where am I going to stay?
All helpers stay in fully secure homes that we provide.
- You sleep in bunk beds with quality mattresses.
- The houses are in good condition
What work schedule will I have?
We start at 9 in the morning and have lunch at 2 pm. After eating there are two options: to carry out activities or to continue with another kind of projects.
Will I have free time to visit the country?
Yes, all weekends we organized activities and excursions.

Are the destinations safe?
Yes. There’s nothing to worry about. The fates are not conflicting, there are no wars, no army in the streets and they are politically stable. We take care of these details because for us the safety of the helpers is the most important.
Is the transport included?
We organize the transfer from the airport to the village but the expenses must be charged.
Is it safe to go volunteering?
It will all depend on the country and the organizations in which the volunteer is carried out. When selecting them, we take care to choose those countries and regions with minimum and non-conflicting security.
Is there a problem if I travel alone as a volunteer?
No, you have nothing to worry about. Here you’ll meet your family of helpers.
What is the application process?
You only have to fill in the form that you will find on our website and we will contact you. If you have questions or something to comment on, you can call us whenever you want.
How much money do you have to take?
It will all depend on the length of your stay. The expenses you’re going to have to take care of will be minimal (personal expenses). Anyway, at your arrival we advise you to change around 80 euros per week. For you to get an idea, the cost for the weekend doesn’t vary much between 25/30 €.
What can you take to donate?
From clothes to toys. However, from YWH, we will always organize games or competitions when it comes to donating, to stimulate the value of the achievements.
Do I have to have a minimum or maximum age to volunteer?
You have to be at least 16 years old.
Do I need to have specific knowledge to volunteer? Do I have to do a previous volunteering course?
Depending on the project you have to have some knowledge and/or necessary skills prior.
The medical project requires studies in the health field. For education project you will need a certain level of oral and written English, what is most needed is to know how to lead a class and make them respect you.
Can I volunteer with a friend or a partner?
Yes, you can do it with a friend or a family member!
What is the minimum duration of participation?
The minimum duration is two weeks, although we recommend spending more time in order to live the real experience, as time flies by when we are in there.That’s why the stays we schedule are 25 days.
Is English necessary?
Yes, in order to communicate you need a minimum knowledge of English. Even more if you participate in the education project, where you will not only need to understand but also some fluency in speaking.
Why do I have to pay for volunteering? What are the costs?
A part is necessary for management costs, accommodation, food and transport, while the other part will be destined to be able to help in the projects throughout the year, while the helpers are not there in person.
Is it possible to choose several volunteer projects?
Will I need travel insurance?
Yes, if you have private insurance check the conditions of this. If not, we will recommend you one of confidence.
Will I need vaccinations?
Depending on the destination, we will inform you in advance of the obligatory and optional vaccines and how advise you in the process.
Is someone coming to pick me up at the airport?
Yes, at all times, someone from the organization will be waiting for you.
What kind of food will we take in the country? Is it necessary to bring food?
Food in these countries is usually very basic: rice, pasta, chicken. In case of allergies or intolerances we recommend you to bring your own food as an additional supplement. Don’t forget a good vacuum-packed !
Will we be connected?
Yes, at all times. Once you get to the country you can get a local card for the mobile with Internet.
What happens if I get sick?
Yes we help brings nurses to all destination for the health project, so you will always be close to the organization’s health staff.
